The Early Help Coordinators can offer advice, guidance or help troubleshoot to agencies who are completing an EHA or TAF. They can also help to identify what services may be available or help with the Early Help process generally.

There is a duty line that is covered daily where partners can ring for advice and support around any issues to do with an EHA or TAF.

Partners can book an EHC to attend a TAF, where the case is felt to be ‘stuck’ or particularly complex. This is also the pathway for requesting support from an EH worker.

The EHC’s quality assure all EHA’s before they are logged and offer feedback and guidance. Partners’ feedback that this is really helpful.

The EHC’s provide support and guidance and do not become Lead Practitioners.

Contact the Early Help Coordination Team on 0191 643 8178.

 Safeguarding Professionals Advice Line

The Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) offer a dedicated telephone advice line to safeguarding professionals.

This enables professionals to directly access Social Work advice in relation to a worry about the safety of a child or young person. The offer of advice is intended to assist the professional in coming to an informed decision about whether a safeguarding referral to the MASH should be made or other action taken. The telephone line is only available to safeguarding professionals and is not intended for family members, carers or members of the general public.

Professionals can access the advice line on 0191 643 5555 between 8:30am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 4:30pm on Fridays. At times of high volume of calls, a professional may be directed to a voice mail and advised to provide their contact details. MASH will make every effort to respond promptly.

If you are a professional looking to submit a concern, you should complete an agency referral form found on North Tyneside Council’s website: Are you worried about a child? | North Tyneside Council
